The Fretternity was born in 2025, when founders Mark Silgardo and RJT—seasoned musicians with a history of performing both independently and together—came together to create something distinctive. The opportunity arose when a friend invited Mark to curate a performance at a community space, sparking the idea to craft a set built around songs that had deeply influenced them over the years. Drawing from the legendary catalogues of iconic singer-songwriters from the 60s, 70s, and 80s—Paul Simon, Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Graham Nash, Johnny Cash, among others—The Fretternity pays homage to timeless music that continues to resonate across generations.
